Clean Air Solution-Retrofit Service Optimization Gas Turbine

Project Name: Gas Turbine Filter Intake House 5.7MW Taurus T-60

Challenges & Problems Faced by Client:

The dusty environment was the root cause of frequent change of Combustion filters installed at Gas Turbine Air intake at Gatro Power Hub Balochistan. Heavy Dust load on the air filters caused a sharp increase in pressure drop, consequently, frequent change of filters was indispensable. This condition was quite challenging for them because of the increased outage time of the machine.

SAF Design & Solution:

A dynamic team of SAF International presented a solution to optimize the Gas Turbine intake, Retrofitting of Pre-Filter at Solar Turbines Turbomach Gas Turbine Taurus T-60 (5.7MW) complete single-stage filter house with Louvers steel support structure for GT performance and enhancing the life of combustion filter of M/s Gatro Power Ltd., Hub District Lasbela, Balochistan.

Challenges & Problems Faced by Client:

Proper air filtration is critical to the overall performance and reliability of gas turbines. Small gains in efficiency can mean huge savings. Gas Turbines Air intake at KGTPS Karachi faced dusty and humid environment that brought about frequent replacement of filters installed at heavy dust mist load on the air filters caused a sharp increase in pressure drop, consequently, frequent change of filters was indispensable. This condition was quite challenging for K-Electric because of the increased outage time of the machine.

SAF Design & Solution:

The dynamic Team of SAF International presented a solution to optimize the Gas Turbines Air intake. SAF enables K-Electric to overcome the challenge. Retrofitting at General Electric LM 6000 Gas Turbine was another achievement of SAF International. operational savings achieved through improved filtration performance greatly reduced maintenance costs as a result of a much cleaner engine, quantified by less frequent inspections, fewer shutdowns, and higher availability.

Retrofitting services in M/s Engro Powergen Ltd. for Pre-Filter single-stage filter house with a steel support structure for optimum filtration.

Project Name: Gas Turbine Enclosure Modification EGT-4 Siemens

Challenges & Problems Faced by Client:

OGDCL Gas Field faces stormy and dusty environments. Heavy Dust was passing through the existing air filters arrangement from weather hood & Inlet duct of Turbine Enclosure Ventilation of SIEMENS (EGT-4) Gas Turbine at Uch Gas Field Jacobabad, Balochistan. The existing spin tube filters were not working properly. This condition was quite challenging for the increased outage time of the machine and cleaning.

SAF Design & Solution:

SAF International Modified weather hood & Inlet duct for the Turbine Enclosure Ventilation System of SIEMENS Gas Turbine (EGT-4). Successfully replaced existing spin tube filters with SAF Pre Filters for smooth operation at a low-pressure drop.

Project Name: Gas Turbine Filtration 235MW (1x80 MW,1x155 MW)

TNB Liberty Power Limited (235 MW) Power Plant in Mirpur Mathelo, Daharki, Sindh, is wholly owned by TNB Power Dahrki Ltd. GT operation team TNB liberty power has a serious problem due to the frequent change of Air Filters back in 2002. This not increased the replacement cost of final stage filters but also reduced the efficiency of the machine due to frequent shutdowns

SAF Design & Solution:

SAF optimized air intake system and resolved the issue. This retrofitting with the consent of Ansaldo brought remarkable improvement. SAF solution played a vital role in increasing the efficiency of GT and reduced the replacement frequency of the secondary final stage filter of Siemens V94.2 Gas Turbine
